The USS O'Bannon has participated in the annual Blood Oath Challenge. The challenge has in the past been between the USS Cumberland out of Portland Maine, USS Kasimar out of Bangor Maine and USS O'Bannon. The challenge is to see who gets the most pints for their Red Cross pints.  Overall a huge success since the winners are the American Red Cross.
